Brief Description:
Hey there, my name is Ian Ryan. I am a recent B.S. Computer Science graduate from California State University, Channel Islands. I have a passion for pattern recognition, computer vision, deep learning, and real-world ML deployment.
I began my higher education journey in Fall 2015 at Moorpark College, starting from the ground up. I worked full-time while gradually progressing through part-time and full-time semesters, using my only days off to attend classes. In Fall 2020, I earned a spot on the Dean's List after completing my first semester of full time STEM courses. By December 2022, I transferred to CSUCI with three associate degrees in Computer Science, Natural Sciences & Mathematics, and Liberal Studies.
At CSUCI, I discovered a deep interest in machine learning and computer vision, fueled by supportive mentors and hands-on projects. Between January 2023 and December 2024, I maintained a 3.5 GPA and gained hands on experience developing machine learning projects and learning the importance of fundamentals. Since graduating, I did a complete overhaul of my capstone project to reinforce my understanding of ML/AI (you can read about it in my first blog post). Recently, I’ve started exploring transformer-based vision models and continue developing personal projects to stay sharp.
I am currently seeking full-time roles, internships, co-ops, or collaborations with like-minded individuals.
